Canary Islands Travel Guide: Part II

This post is also available in: Bulgarian

Hello again, my lovelies!

In my previous blog post “Canary Islands Travel Guide Part I”, I shared with you our amazing experience with the island’s beaches, our yellow submarine adventure and visiting of the most beautiful cities ever. Here I decided to tell you a little bit more about the city that we chose to stay in, the hotels and the interesting lovely sights to visit in the city.

After a lot of research, we decided to actually stay in a city called Maspalomas, because it is said to be a very lively, young and interesting. We stayed at a hotel called “LABRANDA Marieta”. It was a very nice hotel with super fresh and delicious food and an amazing roof top swimming pool. My favourite part was exactly this roof-top, as it had such an amazing view, chill bar and a very relaxed sunbathing area.

Apart from that, all the information about Maspalomas that we had before the arrival was true: the city was so beautiful, entertaining and very lively, but at the same time not crowded. The beach was literally few minutes away and on the way there were so many palms, flowers and some extremely beautiful small beach houses.

Another thing I loved about the city was that there were so many bars and restaurants working in the beginning of April. One of the nights we went to the Maspalomas mini-golf course and honestly loved it. I have never tried mini-golf before, but I really recommend it.

One of the most exciting and unique things about Maspalomas are the dunes. We drove to the Faro de Maspalomas and walked from there to the Dunas de Maspalomas. The walk was so pretty with this coast line path filled with palm trees, restaurants and a never ending sea view.

The dunes were breath-taking!!! I expected them to be much smaller, but they were actually so broad that we couldn’t even walk from one side to the other. It literally felt, as if you are in the middle of Sahara. It is definitely a ‘must visit’ sight on Gran Canaria and it is also one of the most photo friendly spots there.

In general, we really really loved the Canary Islands and I would totally recommend it to every one of you!
