Greece Travel Guide

This post is also available in: Bulgarian

Hello, my lovelies!

Summer is almost over, but I am definitely not letting it go… We recently came back from my favourite summer destination, mainly Greece!!! Honestly even after living in other two Mediterranean countries (Italy and Spain) Greece still has my heart. We have visited a lot of different places there, but this year I celebrate my 10th anniversary of summers in Halkidiki (Chalkidiki), Greece and that is why I decided to share with you my favourite spots and my Greece travel guide!

Los Hermanos Beach Bar

Located in Pefkochori, this beach bar definitely wins in terms of picturesque design and amazing Mexican-like atmosphere. For sure, my favourite photo place! It is all pink with numerous small cactus, a very cool old school bus and the perfect chill area.

The beach itself is also amazing, as it is pretty relax with nice sand and turquoise clear water. This beach bar sure makes you feel like you are no longer in Greece, but in a very good and different way!

Elephant Beach Bar

Another super photo friendly spot located near Pefkochori. Not only the bar has amazing sandy beach, clear water and comfortable sunbeds, but they have also made a few spots, where you just can’t not take photos! The amazing colourful Paradise car, the super cute straw place with all the hats and of course the beautiful straw umbrellas definitely makes this bar a very young and interesting beach place!

Not only this but they have taken their food and drinks options to another level, offering cocktails in pineapples and watermelon with feta made as a pizza.

Yalla Beach Bar

Again located in Pefkochori, this beach bar is a very young relax area with beautiful water, nice bar and numerous restaurants around, including some of the best beach restaurants in the area. The thing I loved about this bar is that there are lockers on most of the umbrellas, where you can keep safe your phone and documents, while enjoying the amazing turquois water. Not only that but this place has the cutest hotels around and offer the best fruit salad!!!

Chelona Beach Bar

This beach bar is located on the other side of the Kassandra peninsula, near Neas Potideas. It is a very chill bar in the middle of nowhere, with shallow and crystal clear water and surrounded from both sides by beautiful small green mountains. Right next to the beach bar there are virgin beaches and unspoiled sea front, which makes you feel in touch with the unique Greek nature.

Long time ago the beach even had ducks and turtles walking freely around, but now there is just a small pond with palms around and small turtles. In addition to that, the beach is honestly the perfect spot to welcome the amazing sunset over the sea!

Pohoda Chill Bar & Funky Restaurant

This amazing beach bar is also located on the other side on the peninsula in Possidi. Exactly this small village is where I spent most of my summers in Halkidiki until recently and this bar is honestly my favourite! It is very spacious with a lot of lounge areas, chill spots and nice comfortable sunbeds. It is both a bar and a restaurant and it becomes the best place to chill and relax with friends both during the day and at night. We have spent numerous nights out there, dancing and having fun!!! Amazing memories! It is so beautiful that it is also the perfect beach wedding spot with the sunset over the sea and the unique design and location!

Cocus beach Bar

Another place in Possidi, where I have spent so many sunny days. It is again a very spacious beach bar with straw umbrellas, sandy beach and clear water.

The bar has so many chill areas, a gym-like area and a place for literally everyone: from people wanting to drink and dance by the bar; people playing cards all-day; people wanting to just relax and sunbathe to people wanting to do different water sports. Literally so cool!!!

Once you get tired of all the beaches and beach bars, which I don’t think is possible, you can just embrace different other activities that the unique Halkidiki offers.

Afitos

You can go the ancient town Afitos and have a walk around its gorgeous small streets, filled with amazing craftsmanship shops; enjoy the amazing Mediterranean buildings; admire the unique view from the top of the village and eat endless portions of the most delicious mussels and prawns together with Greek salad and ouzo!!!

Boat trip to Sithonia

If you are up for more adventures, I will for sure recommend you taking a boat from Pefkochori to the second Halkidiki peninsula, called Sithonia. You would visit the picturesque Porto Koufo and the literally unique virgin beach Toroni, where the water is so clear and turquois it is unbelievable.

You would then go to the famous Neos Marmaras and walk around the gorgeous town, have a coffee and enjoy all the small Greek shops.

Your boat trip would then end by visiting the island Kelyfos. The island is more than amazing and the water around it is crazy clear and turquois!!! I honestly fell in love with it… We jumped from the boat, enjoyed the fantastic water and took a million photos… It is totally worth it!

Scuba diving

This year we tried another adventure and I think this was the peak of our holiday: we went scuba diving!!! We found a company near Pefkochori that was run by Bulgarians and we decided to give it a try. Honestly I was terrified and I almost bailed out once they told me to put the whole equipment and the scuba (the compressed air bottle).

I found it extremely hard to make my brain understand that I could actually breathe underwater, but once I managed to kind of control it, it was the best experience ever and the Greek underwater life is literally fascinating!!! I can not wait to try it again and I for sure recommend you trying it out!!!

We honestly love Greece and I am sure you will fall in love with it too!!!

This ended up being the longest blog post ever, but I hope you like it and actually find it useful for your travel experience.
