Hello my lovelies!
The weekend finally came again and I had time to actually do something else that just going to Spanish classes. These days the weather has been so erratic that I literally feel so tired after spending just a few hours outside. At one moment it is sunny and super warm, the next one it is so windy and right after that it changes again…
Anyways, this weekend we decided to just go around town and try out new places. This is actually how we ended up going to “Alsur Café”. In this place they had the cutest floors and walls, all covered with different designs beautiful and super colourful tiles. I have always loved cafes and restaurants with nice design, because for me it means that they are actually putting effort into being a nice and welcoming place. But this was not the best thing about our brunch spot. They had combined one of my favourite deserts with one of my favourite vegies and turned it into AVOCADO WAFFLES!!! We also ordered chicken waffles and although I have never even taught about this combination, they were both amazing!!!
I honestly love Barcelona for all these never ending small cute places that make you fall in love with food even more! The café was right in front of probably the prettiest hotel in Barcelona, called “El Palace”. It not only looked like such a welcoming hotel, but was also the perfect photo spot.
After the nice waffles brunch, some lovely time talking and then taking photos, we started walking around looking for a flower shop from which to buy a small decorative lemon tree. Unfortunately, today was an official holiday and none of the shops were actually open so we ended up just strolling around.
I don’t know how, but every time we decide to walk without a specific direction, we always end up on Plaça de Catalunya.
As we were quite near to the neighbourhood El Born we went on to see the Barcelona Cathedral, because this was one of the view touristic places, we didn’t have time to explore.
The cathedral was very beautiful, but there were way too many people to really enjoy its architecture. That’s why we didn’t stay long and then we started going back home. On the way, we finally found the most photographed and posted on Instragram plaza called “Plaça Reial”. It turned out to be surprisingly peaceful there, although it was full with different cafes and restaurants. There were so many palms, a nice fountain and such a peaceful atmosphere in general that I would love to come back and have a coffee there.
However, the weird weather had its influence and we ended up super tired and thus decided to go home and have a Netflix kind of evening.
