Hello, my lovelies!
We are now back to Barcelona and we are heading to the airport to pick up my family. They are coming for a few days here to celebrate my birthday on the 4th April and then we will all go back home for Easter.
I didn’t have the time to write this blog post, while we were still on the Balearic island, but I will share a little bit about our last days now. The weather was still amazing and we managed to continue exploring Menorca’s gorgeous beaches.
However, as it was already Catholic Easter holiday, there were more and more people every day at the beach. That’s why we decided to actually spend quite a few time at the hotel’s pool, as the atmosphere there was so calm and relaxing. It was literally amazing to actually sunbath and listen just to the song of the birds.
The pool was so nice with the most perfect view of the beach and the sea, a small waterfall and an amazing infinity pool. We managed to swim, worked on our tan and ordered an amazing fruit salad. It was literally the perfect place to spend the days and we both loved it!!!
Of course we also drank mojitos, took a lot of photos and even managed to a watermelon dress photo. I honestly love this photo so much and all the attempts to take it were so hilarious (pretty sure it was as fun for my boyfriend too haha).
With pool time before lunch, we had allocated the afternoon to explore the virgin wild beaches of Menorca. This time we decided to finally go and see the beach right by the hotel “Artiem Audax”. It is named after the town, more precisely “Playa Cala Galdana”. Unfortunately, it still had a lot of seaweed that the locals spread in autumn to protect the sand during all the winter storms. However, at the end part of the beach the sand was so white and clear and the water was so brightly turquois that we immediately headed that way.
It was such a lovely beach and the water was so clear, warm and was actually so shallow that you had to enter more than 15 meters into the sea to have water above your knees. It was the perfect place to hang out in the sea and sunbath at the same time. We were lucky that there was no one else there, because I guess it is usually very busy as it is the best beach to go with small kids. Anyways, we enjoyed the water a lot and had a great time at the beach!
We shot a few photos and then went to the hotel, changed and went for a walk to finally explore the town itself at daylight. The small town turned out to be so cute and was actually so much different than Barcelona and Spain in general.
It had such small white house, lots of palm trees and a small lake actually dividing the beach from the town itself. It resembled so much some American beach towns and at the same time some Greek islands that it was honestly the most picturesque place!
We both loved the Balearic Island Menorca and we are honestly looking forward to coming back to this amazing place!!! I was pretty sad when we were leaving, but now I am excited about my upcoming birthday and the next few days in Barcelona with my family!
